2026 BC Gravel Series Registration Open

Victoria, BC – The 2026 BC GRAVEL SERIES on Vancouver Island, proudly hosted by Mosaic Forest Management announced its racing schedule today. “2026 is going to be a big year for us." said race director, Jon Watkin. "We are looking at some exciting route changes and also are super pumped to host the Canadian Gravel Championships in June.”


The River City Gravel Fondo in Campbell River taking place on April 12 is looking at a new route as a result of road closures around the Strathcona Dam. "We are looking at a new route that takes riders South on Duncan Bay Main Forest Road to Black Creek Main, Rossiter Main, and Piggott Main." said Jon Watkin. "I think it will be a fun yet challenging course to kick off the gravel season."


Earlier this summer, Cycling Canada announced that the Burnt Bridge Classic will be hosting the Canadian Gravel Cycling Championships on June 13/14, 2026 in the Cowichan Valley. Now in its 8th consecutive year, the event will be inviting gravel enthusiasts from across Canada to come to the west coast and enjoy some of the most pristine and gravel roads.


Also new is the introduction of the West Coast Slugger, which will take place on May 17 in Port Alberni. "This is going to be a popular one." continues Jon. "The area has some of the most incredible gravel roads that will give participants some breathtaking views along Sprout Lake, Nahmint Lake, and the western shore of the Alberni Inlet."


The BC Gravel Series caps off with the Forbidden Gravel event which will feature an expanded route along the Puntledge River and a climb up Forbidden Plateau Road.


The event schedule is as follows:


1. April 12 – River City Gravel Fondo, Campbell River BC

2. May 17 – West Coast Slugger, Port Alberni BC

3. June 14 – Burnt Bridge Classic, (Canadian Gravel Championsips) Cowichan Valley BC

4. September 20 – Forbidden Gravel, Cumberland BC


Participants have the option to choose from three distances that reflect their respective ability levels. All distances are fully supported with aid stations, and include complimentary food/drinks and chances to win some amazing draw prizes.


  • Impulso (Short Distance ~40km)

  • Intermedio (Middle Distance ~75km)

  • Esperto (Long Distance ~ 110km)


There will also be a category for e-Bikes and Vintage Bikes.


Participants will be encouraged to take the time to visit the local host cities and take advantage of promotions from select hospitality partners and restaurants.
